How does the Burton Step On System work?

The system has three connection points per foot and side. There are two small steel barbs on the side of the front foot of the boot. These barbs fit into the correspondingly positioned eyelets or holes in the step-on binding. At the same time, there is a rail with a fastening mechanism on the inside along the highback. The counterpart to the rail is attached to the boot along the heel. There is also a small lever on the outer part of the binding that closes automatically but must be operated manually to open. When the lever is open, you can easily get out of the binding. All three connection points must engage so that the binding holds you securely on the board and no force is lost. A clear ‘click’ sound immediately indicates whether you have really engaged the binding.


The following sequence applies when getting on: 1st step - engage heel 2nd step - engage forefoot 3rd step - ride off

When getting off, the following sequence applies: 1st step - stop 2nd step - open the lever on the binding 3rd step - get off
